Make a ground-level inspection list
Before arranging gutter cleaning, walk around your property from a safe, accessible position. Note visible leaves, plants in the gutter, sections that appear uneven and areas where water spills over during rain. Mark each location in a few words: front entry, garage corner or rear downspout. This gives the team a practical starting point.
A photo or short video taken from the ground can communicate an intermittent issue better than a general description. Do not climb onto the roof to collect evidence. If a location cannot be seen safely, simply flag it for the team.
Explain the symptom, not a guessed diagnosis
Overflow does not tell you by itself which work is needed. Tell CareMate when it happens, where the water goes and whether it affects one section or several. Mention any gutter guards and previous repairs. Cleaning, repairing a loose connection and replacing a damaged section are different requests.
If you have noticed a leak or a section pulling away from the house, include that in your request instead of expecting a cleaning appointment to cover repairs automatically. Ask the team to clarify the proposed scope before additional work is agreed.
Plan around your property
Tree cover and the timing of debris accumulation vary from one property to another. Rather than choosing a maintenance interval from a generic rule, describe the trees near your roof and when you usually notice a problem. Keep notes after the visit so the next service can be planned around what actually happened at your home.
Before the appointment, identify access restrictions, locked gates, outdoor pets and items near the work area. Make sure the team knows which downspouts or drainage areas you want discussed. Share any concern about fragile landscaping before work begins.
